The Honda Outdoors store-in-store concept brings an outdoors aspect with astroturf flooring, feature walls, wood paneling and pelmets.

Mitre 10 initially came to us looking for a presentation solution for the 2021 Auckland Home Show. The resulting Smarthome has now taken centre stage in-store.

Torpedo 7’s Newmarket store features elements of New Zealand’s great outdoors including dark stained timber, an astroturf wall and even an indoor hut.

Hannahs is a New Zealand icon, with a shoe manufacturing and sales history stretching back over 150 years. The latest store in the rollout of their new concept design is the 277sqm flagship at Sylvia Park. The 17m frontage gives the store a great presence in the new pavilion.

GDM likes to take on big jobs in big stores and The Warehouse Ormiston is no exception. This 7000 square metre store is one of the biggest we have fitted out, requiring six 40-foot containers of equipment to be manufactured and delivered by our team.

A collaboration between Gary Parker (Unichem Waiuku, Pharmacist) and GDM to design and manufacture an efficient shelving system has been a game-changer for Unichem Waiuku. Medishelf Park-it maximises storage space, saves time for pharmacy staff, improves customer wait times, and delivers an ongoing return on investment.

Each year, for the past ten years, GDM has completed store fitouts for Burnsco, and 2021 is no exception, with their new Westhaven store at the foot of the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge the latest. It is an impressive store, with a nautical feel to complement Burnsco’s products and services.

Noel Leeming approached GDM to create and manufacture fittings and fixtures for their brand-new tier one store in Newmarket. The result was a store with a modern look, sleek lines, and consistency in approach.

When food is presented well, it becomes more desirable, enticing the customer take a bite. Recently, GDM collaborated with Foodstuffs North Island to create new produce fixtures for their New World stores with customer experience, aesthetics and durability in mind. The finished product has increased sales, a smaller store footprint and has led to lower operational costs. A winner all round!

The design intent for this store was to create an exciting customer experience with a look that is industrial and simplistic while setting Stirling Sports apart from their competitors. The look and feel needed to emulate the products on display, and elevate Stirling Sports style credentials.

If you want a big job done, GDM are the ones to carry it out. When Mitre 10 approached us to redevelop their tapware offer, we knew we were up to the task. 15,000 boxes of tapware, 2000+ display boards, and 12 workstations later, we delivered to 84 stores throughout the country, completing the project within six weeks. Now those are impressive numbers! Almost as impressive as the displays themselves!!

For Swanndri’s Newmarket store we were tasked with creating customised fixtures to blend in with their iconic style, while also highlighting a classic product range.

Lava is a first-class hotel with an eclectic style, incorporating a contemporary feel with Samoan cultural design and influences. GDM manufactured and installed all the public space joinery including the reception, bar and feature timber displays. Opening in June 2020.

It’s an award winner for a very good reason. Rodd & Gunn’s new flagship store based in Chadstone, Australia, is successful in telling a story of the brand’s history, while evolving the store design to provide every customer with a true Rodd & Gunn experience within a functional retail space.

With Hannahs, we redefined this iconic New Zealand brand with a clean, fresh new look, while still retaining the original store aesthetics.

Mitre 10’s Colour Centre Project features an improved customer experience with inspirational imagery and design, giving the customer the space to create and choose colour.

At GDM we are not just about retail stores. Recently we worked on the design and construction of Whanganui District Council’s customer service area. The area has a completely new look and feel, with bespoke kiosks and clean lines.

Whitcoulls is something of a New Zealand institution, founded 130 years ago with over 50 stores nationwide. It is always a privilege to work with them. The finished in-store product is cost effective, consistent with the Whitcoulls brand, easy to assemble and move around. Plus it looks great!

Liquorland Boutique is a new concept store, building on their existing brand, with premium products and a superior shopping experience for customers. We had to really think outside the box on this one. The resulting fixtures and fittings are cost effective and look superb.

We love a challenge, and the Crowne Plaza, Christchurch was certainly a big one. With multiple room iterations, ceiling heights and room configurations, we were put to the test. The result is a beautiful hotel, with sleek lines and classic features.
