Boutique store for superior shopping experience

Earlier this year, Liquorland approached GDM as they were looking to create a new concept store; Liquorland Boutique. Liquorland Boutique would build on their existing brand – supplying premium products and a superior shopping experience. It is a place where savvy customers will go to discuss potential purchases, source advice and order high-end products.

Liquorland were looking for a look and feel quite different to their usual branding. They wanted a boutique store, with gastro pub type fixtures and fittings, and good lighting.

GDM have achieved just that. The store fittings have great functionality, while also providing a superior look and feel. The shop floor is one where customers and staff can interact easily, access products and even carry out tastings in a relaxed, ambient environment. The store does indeed feel like a gastro pub, with the creation of a manufactured melamine board which resembles recycled timber. A much more cost-effective option than the real thing, when the fit-out of numerous stores across the country is considered.

“We are particularly proud of this fit-out,” says GDM sales and marketing manager Richard Jessep.

“When we were first presented with the brief, we were really excited about what we could bring to the table, as we knew we could exceed Liquorland’s expectations.

“We have done just that, creating a store that will appeal to even the most refined tastes.”

New window grids have been created for this fit-out for an extra level of security, while also acting as a functional window display. The grids are permanently mounted, with the ability to move shelves around to accommodate different bottle sizes, and to display signage.

In store storage has also improved with new wall systems which allow for five levels of display and one level of storage. The new storage level means that staff can easily access new stock without leaving the shop front.

GDM has met the brand personality of Liquorland Boutique exceptionally well, with the expectation that both staff and customers will have a much more enjoyable experience. The store opened in September 2019 and feedback from Liquorland has been excellent, they are extremely pleased.
