Projects Macpac

Macpac NZ + Australia

Macpac balances function + appeal

Macpac’s iconic global adventure identity is celebrated through this exceptional in-store experience. We love this brand founded on principles of creativity and innovation – values close to our hearts too.

Contemporary design honours proud provenance

Macpac’s milestone 100th store in Christchurch Ōtautahi — the very birthplace of their business 52 years earlier — deserved to be a celebration of the iconic brand’s strength of innovation and adventure.

GDM contributed to this project in collaboration with Auckland-based architecture and interiors experts Pennant & Triumph. Having worked together with other great brands, Pennant & Triumph reached out to GDM knowing we had the unique joinery and metalwork expertise needed to bring Macpac’s vision to life.

At first glance, it’s clear the Macpac fixtures are functional and attractive but the less-obvious details are GDM’s attention to health and safety standards. Product stability was a key consideration for Macpac and we were proud to deliver fixtures that exceeded health and safety requirements.

The finished Northlink Shopping Centre store attracted the attention of Inside Retail Australia’s Retailer Awards, earning Macpac recognition in its Best Store Design category.
